About ACASI

Acasi, which stands for African Center for Agriculture and Social Inclusion was established on April 18, 2018, as a registered non-governmental organization under the Nigerian Company and Allied Matters Act.

Our organization serves as Nigeria’s leading center for agri-food resources, dedicated to supporting communities, government agencies, and budding agripreneurs in starting, accelerating, and scaling diverse staple and export value chains, sustainably.

As part of a pan-African network of value chain actors, we collaborate with various stakeholders across the continent. Our network includes participants engaged in cultivation, logistics, consultancy, packaging, exports, capacity building, and policy and decision making.

ACASI is governed by a 4 (four)- member board of directors comprised of experienced professionals with expertise in agriculture, food security, international trade, public service, and the green economy. Our day-to-day operations are managed by a team of 3 (three) full-time staff members who are enthusiastic interns and aspiring experts.

Our Mission & Vision

for all.

Our values

Seven Focal Points

1.

Feeding and Outreach

In Africa, we address various challenges, such as interethnic/religious conflicts, terrorism, climate change, and the recent impact of COVID-19 on farming communities. Many people are in dire situations, including thousands of displaced children. Our organization’s mission is to provide food and relief support resources to these victims.

2.

Affirmative Climate Action:

ACASI is dedicated to creating a sustainable future for Agribusiness. Our affirmative climate action focuses on developing cleaner food and energy sources. We partner with local, subnational entities and foreign institutions to drive climate-smart initiatives that protect flood-prone smallholder farmer communities.

3.

Agrifood Value Chain Development

Relying solely on commodities exports makes the agribusiness sector unsustainable for Africa’s economy. Our initiatives support agrifood SMEs in developing value-added products, allowing them to scale and compete effectively, both locally and internationally.

4.

Agri Academia and Trade

We’ve established a holistic platform to support job seekers and professionals in the agricultural sector. This platform includes various mentorship communities such as AgriskillsHub.com, Urban Farmers network, and African Farmers stories, where individuals can connect and learn from each other.

5.

ACASI Markets

Effective risk management in agribusiness begins with understanding the markets. Our strategic partners provide support in marketing and sales, particularly in dealing with factors such as shelf life and market fluctuations.

6.

Agri Advocacy: Women & Youth

African women and youth play a crucial role in smallholder farming and sustaining food SMEs. We are committed to providing quality support to their livelihoods through various media outlets and initiatives.

7.

Policy Guide / Framework

Bi-annually, our group of professional think tanks across board, study the sector with country Focus, with a view to providing policy directives and implementation guide to fire up actions in sustainable Agriculture and Food security.
